Workshop 1: Terrarium Making – A fun way to bring nature indoor

If you have a green thumb but minimal garden space, why not create your own mini-world full of lush and beautiful plants by making your own terrarium? Plants are certain to help improve your indoor air quality. Terrariums are easy-to- make, low-maintenance gardens, and can last almost indefinitely with minimal water.
Workshop 2: Create 3D Plant and Animal Cell Organelle Model
3D models are a fun, easy way to learn about plant and animal cells. Students are typically asked to create a 3D model that includes all of a cell’s organelles using either household or edible materials. This activity can be modified for younger grades by focusing on a few organelles: nucleus, chloroplasts (plants), cell membrane, cell wall (plants) and cytoplasm.
